Alex and Johnny's newfound friendship is tested when it is revealed that Johnny's brother is a crack dealer. Some of Alex's friends at school obtain crack, and one of them, who has other medical issues, dies from an overdose. Johnny's brother is killed in a police shootout, and Johnny and Alex's tentative alliance is broken.

This issue was released in mid 1987, when, in real life, the crack epidemic in New York City (home to Power Pack) was in full swing.
